I know a fellow introvert when I see one.
High five!
Let me guess.
You’re a homebody whose idea of “recharging” from a hectic workweek involves reading a book, filling up on comfort food, or binge-watching a series.
I see you.
You and I, we’re the same.
We love to be independent and we enjoy our solitude.
And that is exactly why I believe you’ll succeed as an affiliate marketer.
Most top-earner affiliate marketers are introverts too and have used this characteristic to their advantage.
Folks like Pat Flynn and Ryan Robinson earn big bucks doing what they love most and being their own boss.
If you want a job where you can
-
Control your time,
-
Earn passive income,
-
Work anywhere, and
-
Do what you love
Affiliate marketing as an introvert is the dream career for you.
And I’m here to prove that a career like this is 100% possible.
Ready to find out how to be an awesome introvert affiliate marketer?
Let’s go!
Why Is Affiliate Marketing the Perfect Career For Introverts?
Here are a few things I love as an introvert (which I know you love too):
-
Solitude. Time alone with myself gives me the mental energy to face tasks and “recharge” before I have to socialize again.
-
Solo projects. Whether it’s raising a dog on my own, fixing my trailer to get it ready for long-haul drives, or whipping up a meal I saw on the internet.
-
Working from home. I don’t have to deal with overbearing officemates or get dressed to go out. I just put on my favorite pajamas and sit at my work desk.
-
Writing. I don’t know about you, but writing just makes sense as an introvert. It’s a great way to express my feelings.
If you love these same things like I do, I already know you’ll thrive as an affiliate marketer.
Affiliate marketing has turned my life around since I first started about a decade ago.
I used to live from paycheck to paycheck as a truck driver and work for bosses that order me around.
Now that I’m a successful affiliate marketer, I’m my own boss and I call ALL the shots.
I work when I want, where I want, and as long and as hard as I want.
For instance, last winter, I drove to beautiful Tucson, Arizona where I spent a few weeks living in my trailer with my awesome black lab Cooper.
Once I’ve had my fill of the scenery, I drove to where I reside now, in the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Vallecito, Colorado.
And once the snow starts flying from the mountains, I’ll head for the sunny California coast.
I’ve got TOTAL freedom all thanks to my profitable job as an affiliate marketer.
I get to earn 24/7/365 from over a dozen revenue-earning websites.
Sure, I skipped the security of a desk job but I also earn tons of money overnight to the point where I now make around $40,000 a year.
All that without having to work for or with anyone!
You could say affiliate marketing websites are the ultimate solo project for an introvert like me.
Now, I’m not here to brag.
Well, maybe a little (I did work hard for this life after all!).
But I’m mostly here to tell you one thing:
You can do it too.
You can have as much freedom as I’m having right now.
You can quit your day job and still earn enough to support yourself.
How?
Affiliate marketing is the answer.
And if you aren’t convinced yet, here are 5 reasons why affiliate marketing is the perfect career for introverts.
5 Reasons Why Affiliate Marketing Is the Perfect Career for Introverts
-
It can be a one-person show
Think about it: No boss, no employees — you can run your affiliate marketing business on your own.
You call the shots here.
Of course, if we’re being honest, a career without a boss could have cons in the beginning, such as not having someone to guide you with your work.
I know I struggled for a bit when I started but I didn’t let that hinder me from pursuing a career in affiliate marketing.
I found ways to work around it while being on my own.
Such as looking up successful affiliate marketers and studying their ways and searching for an affiliate marketing guru I can pattern my work after.
And since I love independence and helping myself get there on my own, figuring out affiliate marketing became a rewarding journey in the end.
-
You control your time
This is a huge pro for folks who have a lot going on in their lives outside of work.
Maybe you want to spend more time with your family or travel the world while working.
Or maybe it’s as simple as having the freedom of working at night, when you believe you’re most productive, versus during the day which is expected from 9-to-5 jobs.
Being an affiliate marketer gives you the freedom to move your schedule around as much as you like.
As for me, an introvert who sometimes likes to take his introvertedness to the extreme, I find joy in being alone most of the time.
Being an affiliate marketer means I don’t have to socialize a lot or at all if I wanted to.
It’s even perfect for the extroverts!
Extroverts can plan their work day so they’re free to attend parties and gatherings at night or other group events they’re interested in.
So you see, a career in affiliate marketing can support anything you want to do in life.
Just like me, you can have more room for your hobbies, passions, and interests.
-
It only requires two simple things
A website and a knack for writing.
Once you tick both off, you’ve got a fighting chance with affiliate marketing.
It’s a low-cost and low-risk venture too.
Building a website could cost you as low as $2.95 per month with hosting sites like Bluehost.
As for learning how to write quality content, you could take free SEO and affiliate marketing courses or other free resources online.
After that, you can combine everything you’ve learned and create a valuable article and wait patiently for the results.
While we can’t give a definite time when you can reap what you sowed, you can trust that hard work and consistency will get you far with affiliate marketing.
And if the results take months, don’t worry.
I’ve been there and I’ve done that.
I was earning single digits for the first few months of starting my affiliate marketing career.
But I didn’t give up and now, I get to enjoy around $40,000 in commissions.
-
You work with what you love
They say if you do what you love, you’ll never work another day in your life.
If you don’t believe this, affiliate marketing might change your mind.
For me, the best part about being an affiliate marketer is that I get to work on something I’m interested in and passionate about.
I started this website because I love helping folks like you get better at affiliate marketing and get the chance to earn the big bucks.
You could start all sorts of websites for affiliate marketing!
Write about the best vacation spots around the world, a review of the best driving schools for each state, or even a resource website where school teachers can purchase lesson plans.
The sky is the limit!
Working with what you love and earning from it too sounds like a sweet deal, don’t you think?
-
You get to be you
That’s it.
You don’t have to pretend to be a morning person, commute to work, suffer in the middle of a traffic jam, and socialize.
(Okay, not all desk jobs sound that bad but still.)
Affiliate marketing lets introverts loosen up and let their hair down.
There won’t be 9 AM conference meetings here or 8 PM late-night overtime working on a project you’re not interested in.
Affiliate marketing lets you call the shots on your career.
From which niche to work on to scheduling your day-to-day activities.
Let me tell you, being the captain of my ship has changed life drastically for me.
And it only took realizing who I am and finding what works best for me.
So don’t count yourself out just because you’re an introvert who wants to get into marketing.
You don’t need to be at the frontlines, handing out fliers for products.
You can be comfortable at home typing away at an article and being a great affiliate marketer even as an introvert.
What Is My Typical Day As An Affiliate Marketer Like?
Now that I’ve laid down my 5 reasons why I believe affiliate marketing is the best for introverts, I’ll show you a glimpse of what my life is like as one.
Maybe it will encourage you, even more, to leave for greener pastures.
A typical day in my life starts at around 8:30 AM (or 11 AM, depending on how late/early I slept the night before).
Before anything else, I take my dog out for a walk and then come back for breakfast, a shower, and my morning hike.
I mentioned I live in a trailer, right?
Yup.
My successful affiliate marketing career has allowed me to travel across the country in my van and still earn wherever I am.
As I am writing this, I sit in my trailer which is parked right on the border of the San Juan National Forest in southwest Colorado.
With a forest for a backyard, going for a hike is as easy as walking out the door.
After my morning routine, I check my emails and work for a bit.
Usually, I play around on social media to promote my websites and read up on some industry news.
And when I feel like it, I start my first article for the day, a 700 to 1,200-word article give or take.
For lunch, I whip myself a meal of whatever I planned for the week.
Sometimes I eat outside for a change of scenery.
I take the time to look for a comfortable tree stump somewhere, gaze at the mountains, and consider my plans for the next few articles.
Energized by my short stint outside, I return to my work station and get into my groove.
Normally I can produce another 1 to 2 articles, make some sort of dinner, and hang out with my dog.
If I have time to spare in the evenings, I write more after an early night walk.
At the risk of sounding like a braggart, I want to ask you: Doesn’t this seem like the life?
A decade ago, if you told me I could live like this, without worrying about coming to the office or facing traffic, I would’ve laughed in your face.
If you’re curious about how many hours per week a full-time affiliate marketer like me works, you can read more about it in my article right here.
Moral of the story
Why did I just show you a glimpse of my life as an affiliate marketer?
So you’d want a career as one too.
What can you learn from my story?
First, introverts can thrive with affiliate marketing.
I’m experiencing first-hand how an introvert like me can succeed without being forced to attend meetings, lead presentations, or mingle with co-workers.
With affiliate marketing, all I ever needed was a platform and my knack for writing.
Second, your love for writing can take you far.
I believe affiliate marketers who are great writers have an advantage over everyone else.
Since you’ll most likely be churning out hundreds of articles, better make sure you know how to write or at least take courses on writing.
Plus, writing is a skill that lets you work anytime, anywhere.
And who wouldn’t want that?
Third and last, hard work will get you places
Hard work as an affiliate marketer might not produce the results you want for the first few months.
But let me tell you this — be consistent and you will reap your rewards.
That’s the key to a successful career: Hard work and consistency.
Why Affiliate Marketing Provides So Much Freedom
If you aren’t convinced why you should be an affiliate marketer at this point, here are’s another reason for you:
Freedom.
You don’t need to create your product to become a successful affiliate marketer.
With affiliate marketing, your job is to look for high-quality products and services and promote them on your high-traffic website.
Would you rather deal with storing products and contacting suppliers and manufacturers, or sit at home and write articles that promote already existing products?
The choice is a simple one.
We’re all introverts here!
We’d prefer it if we don’t have to stress about dealing with anyone.
For example, one of the ways I earn commissions is by promoting Amazon.com on one of my websites, DogFoodInsider.com.
The articles I create help people find the best dog food for their fur babies and I direct them to purchase it from Amazon.
When a pet parent clicks on any of my Amazon links in the article and make a purchase, I get a commission.
It’s that simple!
I didn’t need to store sacks of dog food in my basement and have it shipped to the buyer.
All I had to do was make sure my website draws in a lot of traffic and write articles that provide value to the reader.
Freedom!
Starting a Website Based an a Topic You Already Know and Love
By now, you must be genuinely interested in starting your own affiliate marketing career.
You might be asking, “Well, what’s the first step I should make?”
Start off by picking a niche.
A niche is a smaller segment of an already existing larger market.
It helps narrow down the kinds of products you could be promoting.
Creating a website about “fashion” in general will draw a scattered target market — everyone loves fashion.
But creating one specifically for “plus size fashion” narrows down you target audience and makes it easier for you to reach them.
Your niche should be something you’re interested in, a topic you already know and love.
But you should also make sure it gets clicks online and is profitable.
To guide you on the right path, here’s a list of high-profit affiliate marketing niches right now:
- Technology
- Wealth Building
- Health and Fitness
- Fashion and Beauty
- Lifestyle
- Hobby
- Pet Care
- Travel
- Education
- Gaming
Choose a niche and then zero in on a micro niche for a better chance at gaining a following.
As an introvert, you probably already have many interests you’re excited to create websites for so choosing a niche will be easy for you.

The Costs of Starting an Affiliate Marketing Website
Once you’ve chosen your niche, it’s time to build a website.
I mentioned earlier that affiliate marketing for introverts requires two things: a good website and a knack for writing.
Thanks to technology, you can build a website in 10 minutes.
Never before in the history of entrepreneurship has there been an opportunity such as affiliate marketing.
And if you’re not ready to jump ship and leave your day job, you could still work on affiliate marketing with zero risk.
That’s because starting and maintaining a website doesn’t cost much.
For reference, a Bluehost basic package can start you off with $2.95 per month — that’s $35 for a year.
Adding a few extra features such as site backup and SEO tools could still put you at a little under $100.
And if you know how to write and use SEO to your advantage, you’ll never have to spend a penny on advertising, employees, developers, or computer programs.
Don’t believe me?
I am a walking example of everything you just read!
Six months after I created my first website on trucking, I was breaking even.
After 12 months, I was able to quit my full-time job as a truck driver, and in 18 months, I was earning nearly $10,000 per month.
And it’s only gone uphill from there.
Today, I’m lucky enough to earn well into the 6-figures.
When on EARTH has this EVER been possible?
I am living proof that it’s possible to earn the big bucks with only a website, lots of time to write, and hard work.
Content Marketing and Email Marketing for Affiliate Marketing Introverts
Most introverts naturally gravitate to writing since it’s a skill that doesn’t require face-to-face interaction.
Writing also helps them present their thoughts and ideas in ways that are easier to understand.
Put an introvert on the spot and they’d probably be too nervous to give anyone a straight answer to a question but if they’re given time to think about it, they could give a proper well-thought-out one.
This is why introverts who love to write will excel at email marketing, an essential aspect of affiliate marketing.
Oberlo says the number of email users will grow to 4.6 billion in 2025.
2022 statistics also show that 69% of marketers use email marketing to send out content.
Even Small and Midsize Businesses know the power of email marketing, with 81% saying they rely on it as their primary customer acquisition channel.
As an introvert planning on testing the waters of affiliate marketing, this is proof that you can thrive in building a website and dipping your toes in email marketing.
Why?
Email marketing puts you behind the screen.
You don’t have to meet people and shake their hands and talk about the weather before diving into the serious stuff.
All you need are the right tools and the right words and then hit send.
Email marketing also lets the writer craft their own story.
This direct marketing channel method is used to promote products or encourage clicks on a new article you published.
But it doesn’t have to be a boring, straightforward “Click here” post.
The beauty of email marketing is you can add flair and flavor to the emails you send out.
Instead of immediately telling your recipients to buy this brand of dog food, you can tell a story about how you became a pet parent.
Make your emails entertaining so it doesn’t end up in someone’s email trash.
But you might be asking, “How do I build an email list?”
That’s when great content marketing comes in.
To entice folks to give you their email addresses, you could:
- Create a steady stream of high-quality content and remind them to sign up to get updates on when you publish next;
- Create valuable PDF or short course on your niche which you can send to their email; or
- Post about your newsletter on social media and provide links so they can sign up
Once you grow your email list, there are a ton of things you can do.
So don’t make the huge mistake of counting email marketing out when you’re planning your affiliate marketing career.
